Animalia is a classic Australian children's book, written and illustrated by Graeme Base.  Celebrating its 35th Anniversary in 2021, the much-loved book has now been captured on a coloured 20 cent coin.

This is the first release in a new series that will celebrate a different classic Australian children's book each year.

First published in 1986, more than three million copies of Animalia have been sold worldwide.  The book has since been turned into a television series and adapted for babies with My First Animalia.  The book takes children and adults on a colourful journey of the alphabet, using alliteration and detailed animal illustrations to captive them.
