2022 $1 ANZAC Day AlBr Coin in Card
Anzac Day falls on 25 April each year, the day Australian and New Zealand troops landed on the Gallipoli Peninsula in 1915. Since 1916, it has been dedicated to commemorative activities honouring the courage and sacrifice of the first ANZACs during World War I and all succeeding Defence Force personnel who have served in times of war and other operations. The 2022 Anzac Day $1 Coin in Card recognises the 80th Anniversary of the Kokoda Trail Campaign of World War II, a series of fierce engagements fought between Japanese and Allied forces in the then Australian territory of Papua
The reverse of the coin portrays Australian troops climbing the mountainous jungle track, the coin’s artistry includes a symbolic flaming torch. As well as the inscriptions ‘25 APRIL’ and ‘LEST WE FORGET, the design also incorporates The Perth Mint’s historic ‘P’ mintmark. The Jody Clark effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination, and the 2022 year date are shown on the coin’s obverse.
The coin is housed in a specially designed card that features a fold-out stand for upright display.
