The Dusky Dolphin (Lagenorhynchus obscurus) is the 4th Instalment in the  'Australian Dolphin Series'.

Complete with a Brilliant Uncirculated finish.  The Coin's Reverse depicts three Dusky Dolphins designed by

 Stevan Stojanovic & Effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.

The Dusky Dolphin favours cool climate waters and can be found along Australia's southern coastline and in the waters off Tasmania.  It is known to be the most athletic dolphin species, often seen leaping from the water and executing impressive flips and spins.  A social creature, this species of dolphin are often found in groups of 20 but has been seen in groups of up to 1,000.

The Dusky Dolphin is easily recognised by the two blazes of white running back on the body from the dorsal fin to the tail. The areas in between have thorn-shaped patches of a dark colour.

Dusky Dolphins can sometimes be confused with other members of dolphin species, such as the Common Dolphin.
