The latest investment Series - Wildflowers of Australia.

Like the 3 preceding investment Series - Wildflowers of Australia features the quintessentially Australian Waratah. One of the nation's most recognisable and breathtaking flowers.

The First release in the latest series showcases the Waratah - native to South Eastern Australia, including New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania.

There are five species of Waratah, however the most recognisable is the 'Telopea Speciosissima', which is the floral emblem of New South Wales and features attractive, bright red flowers tightly packed to form a large head.

The Waratah is highly symbolic in NSW, with the state's Rugby Team also sharing the same name.

The Indigenous Tharwal People who hail from Cronulla and its surrounds in Sydney, use the Waratah in bush medicine by soaking its flowers in water and drinking the resulting blend.  (please seek medical advice before trying this yourself).

Like several other Australian native Flowers, the Waratah thrives after fire.  It flowers post-fire, with non-dormant seeds then dispersed and grew in favourable environmental conditions.  Fitting for Australian Wildflowers, the Waratah prefers sandy soils to flourish.
