2024 $1 ANZAC Day AlBr Coin in Card - Perth Mint

With King Charles Effigy

Anzac Day falls on 25 April each year, the day Australian and New Zealand troops landed on the Gallipoli peninsula in 1915. Since 1916, it has been dedicated to commemorative activities honouring the courage and sacrifice of the first ANZACs during World War I and all succeeding Defence Force personnel who have served in times of war and other operations.

The coin features a representation of a war memorial, a place for people to gather and remember those who have served in and died as a result of war. Set against a waterway among hills, the obelisk is surrounded by two flags, both at half-mast. Included in the design is a motif representing a torch and an eternal flame, the inscriptions ’25 April’ and ‘LEST WE FORGET’, the 2024 year-date a ‘P125’ mintmark signifying the Perth Mint’s 125th anniversary

The Coin's obverse portrays the Dan Thorne Effigy of His Majesty King Charles III and the monetary denomination.

The coin release is mounted on a coloured card featuring a gold coloured emblem mirroring the flaming torch symbol on th coin.  The Card also features a watermark comprising the words 'Lest We Forget' and styliesd laurel, a symbol of Victory.
