James Bond is a fictional British Secret Service Agent created by former intelligence officer and Author Ian Fleming in 1953.  His famous character featured in 12 novels and two short story collections before producers Albert R. 'Cubby' Broccoli and Harry Saltzman brought Bond to cinemas for the first time in 1962.

In the Man with the Golden Gun, Bond hunts for the 'Solex Agitator', an advanced technological component stolen by Scaramanga in order to weaponise his Solar Energy Plant.  Played by Roger Moor in his second outing as the daring agent. Bond employs all his trickery to outwit the Assassin and his signature golden gun, with the decisive action taking place inside the unnerving surroundings of the funhouse, a deadly maze on Scaramanga's Tropical Island Home.

THe coin portrays coloured images of James Bond and Francisco Scaramanga standing back to back at the start of their pistol duel. The background incorporates representations of the sea and islands, with Spiral Shapes from the famous 007 gun barrel logo.  The coloured inscription 'The Man With The Golden Gun Fifty Years' sits beneath the Bond Family Crest bearing the motto ORBIS NON SUFFICIT ( the world is not enough) and the number 50.
