The Royal Australian Mint is proud to collaborate with the Australian Space Agency on the Out of this World - Australia in Space Coin Program.  Working across government, industry and academia to advance Australia's position in the global space economy, the Agency is at the heart of space in Australia.  Australia has several advantages that make us a great place to do space.  Areas where Australia has a competitive edge or strategic interest are many and varied, including positioning, navigation and timing, earth observation, communications technologies and services and much more.

 

The coin's reverse design depicts a stylised scene featuring an Australian Astronaut exploring space and with an Insert paying homage to WRESAT-1, Australia's first satellite and a 'C' Mintmark.
