2024 Twenty Five Cents Australian Lunar Series III - Year of the Dragon Quarter (1/4) oz Silver Coloured Coin - Melbourne Money Expo ANDA Special 10 - 11th February

Those born under the sign of the Dragon in the years 2024, 2012, 2000, 1988, 1976, 1964 and in every 12th year before are considered to be energetic, enthusiastic, and intelligent. Dragons are often charismatic and attract others with their magnetic personality. They are believed to bring good luck and are often seen as natural leaders. The limited show special silver coin in uncirculated quality is delivered in the original blistercard of the Perth Mint.

 

This Melbourne Money Expo Special Release is part of the Australian Lunar Series III from the Perth Mint which is dedicated to the Year of the Dragon. The fifth issue of the 12-year Lunar III series was struck from a 1/4 ounce of silver and features a colored and detailed image of the mythical creature.

 

The coin features stylized waves and a flaming pearl surround the dragon. The design also includes the Chinese character for "Dragon", the inscription "DRAGON 2024" and the mintmark "P125" signifying The Perth Mint’s 125th anniversary. The reverse shows the portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, Memorial Effigy.
